Nancy Ames and Danny Ward have been a professional team for over 30 years and have been married since 1976. As founder and creative director at Ward & Ames, Nancy is the “imaginator” influence for the firm, developing themes, music, decor, food & beverage specifics and signature styles for each event. A former singer/songwriter/actress and entertainer, Nancy has strong ties to television and the entertainment industry. She appeared on every Variety Era television program during the 60’s & 70’s and performed her live concerts throughout the world until 1987. As President and Executive Producer, Danny Ward directs the complex day to day operational aspects of the firm and is the go-to guy and managing director for all the company’s projects. An accomplished pianist, composer and former musical director, Danny also has extensive personal knowledge of the performing and entertainment industry. He provided musical direction on countless programs for Bob Hope, Andy Williams and innumerable other performing artists during the 70’s & 80’s as well as being the Music Director for the five- year daily run of the Nancy Ames Show on the NBC Television affiliate in Houston.

They became well known to influential Texans for their involvement in well-coordinated, successful special events and in 1982 were urged to dedicate their talents full-time to event planning. Together they create an incomparable team that has produced some of the most high – profile events in the country with a team of superb event planning professionals. As virtual pioneers in the special events field, Ward & Ames is one of the industry’s most respected event planning & management firms.

Outside of work, Nancy and Danny have been involved with innumerable charitable organizations, associations and boards and regularly donate their time to worthwhile causes and philanthropic endeavors throughout the country. They share many hobbies such as gardening, cooking, oenology, music and travel.

Their daughter, Nancy Heitshusen, joined the firm in 2003 and is currently an account executive directing the company’s food & beverage and decor projects.
